She’s in the clubhouse at 12 under with a two-shot lead over Kelly Xu, who has three holes to play. Marin is no stranger to winning big events. She won the stroke-play portion of the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur and then was in the semifinals before having to WD with an injury. Now, she has a chance for another big individual win. She would become the third Arkansas player to win an NCAA title, joining Maria Fassi and Stacy Lewis.Quad bogey drops South Carolina A mistake that likely costs South Carolina a spot in match play just happened. Louise Rydqvist makes a quad eight on the par-4 seventh. The Gamecocks go from tied for eighth to four shots behind the cut line with only five counting holes to play. Just a mistake that’s nearly impossible to recover from.Arizona State jumps South Carolina The Sun Devils, if play ended now, would be in over No. 3 South Carolina, which sits at 14 under and one behind Arizona State. Virginia is in the clubhouse at 15 over and could sneak its way into the final spot if neither Arizona State nor South Carolina finish strong.Cut line update South Carolina is in the driver’s seat to nab the eighth seed in match play. First, it’s the race for the NCAA individual title, and there’s a lot on the line. The winner receives not only the trophy and title of NCAA champion, but also an exemption into next week’s U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills in Wisconsin. That’s worth playing for.

Second is the race for the top eight. Going out on a limb and saying Stanford and Northwestern have locked up two of the eight spots. It’s highly unlikely Oregon or USC fall out, barring a disaster final round. So, can Florida State, Arkansas, Texas and South Carolina hang on to those final spots? Or will Arizona State, the first team out by three shots, or Virginia, Tennessee or someone else make a run to sneak into match play?NCAA Women’s Golf Championship predictions, expert picks Golfweek’s college golf expert Cameron Jourdan and senior writer Beth Ann Nichols made predictions for the championship.
